Optimal Resume (missed that one)

I actually had a real life resume experience using this tool. My youngest son was looking for a job and needed to redo his resume. I told him to use the website. Don't know if his new employment was due to the nice resume he created but he does have a real job that will include benefits!!! He said the site was easy to use and took very little time. Thanks!!

Cloud computing

I would guess I use a form of cloud computing when I log on to various websites from home. I don't actually have, for example, my bank's data base in my computer but I am able to access account info from home.

I really like the multiple back up, only paying for what you use and access to new services.

Election Blog

This website is great! I found the sample ballot to be a good tool to figure out who is doing what when. I missed two question, one I forgot to answer. Its tough to do this while trying to help patrons.

August task

I liked the history link. My birthday is Jan 20-presidential inauguration day so most of the clips dealt with various presidents being sworn in. This will be a good resource when kids need to do projects involving time lines

Pork should be at least 160 degrees F.

July webolution

We've been exploring the new OPAC for several weeks and have been able to navigate quite easily. One nice aspect-when looking up several books by a single author, you can choose a book and it automatically list the rest of the books in order. This is particularly useful when looking up what comes next in a series.

A major problem with the new system is that there is no place to look up your reading record!

June webolution task

I love this resource! We frequently have patrons asking if we have out of town/state newspapers. Now I have a place for them to find out what they need to know!

Yeah! Ebooks is the solution to my problem of how to bring enough reading material with me on vacation without taking up all my luggage space. I will still take a few paperbacks but also plan to use the online sites to download books when needed. I downloaded the print version of Princess of Mars off Project Guttenberg, also downloaded a print version of Urban Legends from Googlebooks. Checked out Manybooks but don't have a pda so didn't download anything. I'll follow up on how practical this is while on an international flight.

Print friendly

Print friendly has not been too friendly! I have been trying for two days to get the site to accept my url and it keeps saying it is loading then stops. I'll try again tomorrow!

Feb. task

We recommend Learn a test frequently. The test most often requested is the GED prep.

January E books

I had a bit of a struggle to get the adobe program to download to the staff computer. After three tries I succeeded. I downloaded a book with no problems and thought of another application for E books. My mom has severe vision problems but loves to read. The size of print can be adjusted on the E books. This would be a wonderful alternative for her if her vision deteriorates further and she is no longer able to read large print. Nice to think her reading days may be extended!
